Indian Navy And NCB Seize Largest Narcotics Bust Of 3300Kgs Off Gujarat Coast

In a joint mission, India’s Navy and the Indian Narcotics Control Bureau (abbreviated as the NCB) seized about 3,300 kg of drugs on Tuesday from a ship close to Gujarat’s Porbandar, making it the largest drug seizure of this nature in recent times, the Navy mentioned. The Navy intercepted a relatively small vessel on Tuesday. More than 3,089 kgs of charas, 158 kgs of methamphetamine, as well as 25 kgs of morphine worth Rs. 1,300 crore could be recovered. The five crew members of the crew, Pakistani nationals, were arrested.

While the officials are yet to specify the value of seized drugs, PTI said that 1 kg of charas has been priced at Rs. 7 crore in the international markets. The drug seizure from the dhow, by far the greatest when it comes to quantity, was possible via collaborative efforts of mission-deployed assets of Indian Navies with the NCB.

The contraband with the apprehended boat and crew members was handed to the Law Enforcement Agencies at an Indian port, the Indian Navy mentioned in a statement. Amit Shah, the Indian Union Home Minister, congratulated the NCB, the country’s Navy, and Gujarat Police for such a “historic success”. Pursuing Modi’s noble vision of a drug-free India, the relevant agencies have been successful in making the most significant offshore drug seizure in the country.

In a joint operation conducted by the NCB, Indian Navy, and the Gujarat Police, a massive 3132 kg consignment containing drugs was seized. The success is a testament to the government’s dedication to making the nation drug-free.

On such an occasion, the NCB must be congratulated along with the Navy and also the Gujarat Police, he explained. This operation occurred in the Arabian Sea close to the International Maritime Boundary Line, an official associated with the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (abbreviated the ATS) informed PTI.
