First Large International Cruise Ship Arrives In Dalian After 2020
The Port of Dalian in northeast China restarted its international cruise shipping operations. On Sunday, a Zuiderdam cruise vessel operated by Holland America Line made a stop in Dalian to commemorate the resumption of the terminal’s international cruise shipping activity.
This is the first international cruise vessel to reach northeast China since the government resumed overseas cruise vessel transport from and to ports in September of last year. The local authorities mentioned that it had been four years since the last international cruise vessel was received by Dalian.
On Sunday, over 2,000 tourists and staff members on the vessel, hailing from 47 nations and regions, reached the Dalian port from Shanghai. Their itinerary in Dalian included trips to picturesque spots and cultural events.
The cruise vessel is set to reach Tianjin on Monday, continuing its worldwide tour. Dalian in the Liaoning Province was among China’s first-ever cities to launch international cruise tour operations.
Liaoning Port Group, the key operator of the Dalian port, said it will collaborate with cruise lines and travel agencies to seize market opportunities and expedite the cruise industry’s development at the port.
