Video: Woman Found Alive And Well After Falling From The 10th Deck Of Cruise Ship

An American woman fell from the 10th deck of a cruise ship and was miraculously found alive after remaining in the waters of the Caribbean Sea for almost an hour.

Per other cruise ship passengers, the woman was rescued southeast of the Dominican Republic on Sunday afternoon.

While she was lost, the guests used binoculars to locate her and aided the ship’s crew in finding her at the earliest.

“I think it was amazing to see everyone was on their balcony,” cruiser Matthew Kuhn told the outlet. “Everyone was trying to help, and the crew was very receptive to everyone.”

Everyone left whatever they were doing, and the mood went from cheerful to serious when people learned about the missing woman.

“You could tell it was very sombre for a brief time,” he explained. “When they found her, it was like – people were relieved. There was just a sense of, ‘Okay, cool. No one died on our cruise.'”

The U.S. Coast Guard confirmed the woman overboard.

“Coast Guard watchstanders at Sector San Juan received a report from the Cruise Ship Mariner of the Seas at approximately 5:44 p.m., Sunday that the ship’s crew had rescued a female passenger, 42, U.S. citizen, who had gone overboard,” the USGS said in a statement.

The cruise was 27 nm south of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic when the incident happened and was headed to Willemstad, Curacao.

Per reports, the woman was in good health when she was rescued. The crew did not request for medical evacuation of the guest. However, she was admitted to the ship’s medical facility and later sent to a hospital in Willemstad, Curacao, for further checkup.

After she was saved, the cruise continued to its destination. It will come back to Port Canaveral on Saturday, per reports.
