A portion of the ship that has been sunk for 75 feet will serve as a habitat for aquatic life.
According to the Okaloosa Board of County Commissioners, this region of the Gulf of Mexico lacks sufficient numbers of marine species.
Because marine life is reliant on “structures” like this, the ship’s goal is to increase its abundance.
