Earlier this year, a 57,000-tonne bulk carrier “Beks Halil” steaming out of Singapore collided with a smaller bulk carrier while passing the Strait of Singapore.
The Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore had reported that the collision occurred about 3.4 kilo meters south of Sisters Islands.
The smaller bulk carrier was hit on the port side in the aft after it was unable to stop or alter course for the larger ship. The incident was caught on tape by crew members from another nearby ship.
There was no oil spill or injury to crew members in the ship collision accident.
