Drone Video : Nissos Samos Ship Celebrates Saint Agia Paraskevi At Chios Island

Saint Paraskevi was from a small Roman Village. Born to religious parents, she is remembered as a martyr of the second century. She underwent great tortures under the reign of the Roman Emperor Antoninus Pius as she was a Christian and refused to worship idols when commanded by the ruler. She had always led a monastic life and led many to adopt the faith.

This video from the annual celebration of the Christian Orthodox Saint Paraveski shows the beautiful amalgamation of Religiosity with Seamanship. It was shot off the capital Chios and Vrontados, lying opposite the Ionian shores of Erythrea, Minor Asia.

A Church in her honour was constructed by the Migrants hailing from the small town of Aghia Paraskevi, near Cesme on the Ionian Coast. They came to the island over a century ago, and since then, the Saint has been revered every year in Chios.
