The U.S. Central Command Forces have recently intercepted and neutralised multiple attacks launched from Iranian-backed Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen.

In a recent series of attacks, on April 11 at approximately 1:00 p.m. (Sanna time), U.S. Centcom forces intercepted and destroyeds an anti-ship ballistic missile launched over the Red Sea.

The missile posed an imminent threat to the U.S. coalition and merchant vessels navigating the region.

Fortunately, no damage or injuries were reported.

This incident comes after earlier encounters on April 10, when three uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) were intercepted between 4:15 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. (Sanaa time), and another eight UAVs were destroyed between 7:50 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

The UAVs were fired from Houthi-controlled territory, posing a direct threat to maritime commerce in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea.

The UAVs presented an imminent threat to the U.S. coalition and merchant vessels, with no injuries or damages reported.

In addition, USS Mason (DDG 87) and CENTCOM forces intercepted and destroyed an inbound ASBM over the Gulf of Aden on April 9 at around 3:00 a.m. (Sanaa time).

The USS Laboon (DDG 58) and USS Mason (DDG 87) were escorting the American-owned and flagged vessel MV Yorktown when the missile was fired.

Fortunately, no reported injuries or property damage occurred.

These interactions demonstrate CENTCOM’s dedication to safeguarding the freedom of navigation and guaranteeing the security and safety of the United States, coalition, and commercial vessels operating in international seas.
