Houthi Leader Warns Of Further Escalation If Israel Continues Assault On Gaza

The leader of Yemeni Iran-aligned Houthis mentioned on Tuesday that the group is going to escalate further if Israel’s attack on Gaza does not stop.

The Houthis, who control the Yemeni capital and most populous areas, have reportedly launched attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea since November 2023, in what they claim is solidarity with the Palestinians, drawing Britain and the U.S. retaliatory strikes since the past month.

The attacks have been disrupting maritime trade significantly in one of the busiest corridors of the world as the freight firms reroute via the Cape of Good Hope to avoid sailing in the Suez Canal particularly.

Abdul Malik al-Houthi declared in a live speech that the organization would seek to escalate exponentially if their barbaric and brutal aggression on Gaza continues to intensify along with the siege of Palestinian individuals from whom they refuse aid or medicine.

Per a military official, the organization launched naval missiles on Tuesday at two vessels in the Red Sea, damaging the Greek-owned Star Nasia as well as the British-owned Morning Tide.

Spokesman Yahya Sarea identified the Marshall Islands-flagged and Greek-owned Star Nasia as American. The vessel was loaded with U.S. coal to India, marine shipping trackers highlighted.
