Houthi Leader Threatens Response To US Attacks In Latest Speech
Any US attack on the Yemeni Houthis is not going to go without any response, the leader of the group, Abdel-Malek al-Houthi, mentioned on Thursday via a televised speech. He added that such responses would be greater than the recent strikes in which its missiles and drones targeted a US vessel in the Red Sea. American attacks will not be excused without a response. And, the response will be greater than the attack that was carried out with 20 drones and several missiles, he said.
Iranian-backed Houthi militants of Yemen have also stepped up the attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea to show protest against the ongoing war in Gaza.

Multiple shipping lines have suspended their operations rather than taking the longer journey via Africa. The organization is more determined to target vessels that are linked to Israel, and they will not back out from doing that, the al-Houthi said. States in the Gulf and the Arab world that support the US, such as Saudi Arabia, have been putting pressure on Washington to declare a ceasefire in Gaza, arguing that this is the only way to stop the fighting from escalating beyond the Gaza Strip.
The senior negotiator for the Houthis in Yemen stated in an interview on Thursday that the attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea by the group do not pose a threat to the peace negotiations with Saudi Arabia. Instead, he blamed Israel’s war on Gaza for escalating regional violence in the Middle East.
Against the backdrop of Israel’s now three-month-old war in Gaza, which was initiated in response to Hamas’ 7 October attack on Israel, US forces have also come under increasing threat in both Syria and Iraq.
