The Goal Zero consortium is spearheaded by a Singapore-based firm, SeaTech Solutions, which designed the vessel.

Yinson GreenTech (abbreviated the YGT), a subsidiary ofYinson Holdings listed with Bursa, was primarily responsible for program management, commercialisation, and system solutions with Shift Clean Energy as the battery technology partner.

The classification was conducted by the Registro Italiano Navale’s Singapore branch.

Eirik Barclay, the CEO of YGT, said they were confident of gaining significant benefits from being a pioneer in the race toward achieving net zero emissions by 2050. They were pleased to be in discussions with financing and prospective equity partners.

Goal Zero was one of three consortiums awarded money in August 2021 by a combined Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (abbreviated the MPA) and Singapore Maritime Institute (popular as SMI) effort to build and pilot fully-electric harbour craft in Singapore.
