World’s Largest Cruise Ship “Icon Of The Seas” Will Make its Debut in January 2024

The largest cruise ship in the world, the Royal Caribbean Icon of the Seas, is nearly finished at Finland’s Meyer Turku shipyard. Beginning in January 2024, the Icon of the Seas will make Caribbean excursions.

The firm’s first Icon-class vessel commenced its sea trials in the Baltic Sea in October.

According to Meyer Turku, sea trials are one of the key milestones on a ship’s journey to execution.

Sea trials help test each aspect of the vessel that cannot be tested while docked, and that each system on it is functioning as expected.

A fear-inducing adventure that’s part thrill ride, part ropes course, part skywalk, and an all-out test of courage is one of the experiences available to the thrill-seekers.

Six Wärtsilä engines are the key highlights of the dual-fuel, LNG-powered Icon of the Seas cruise ship. She also has air lubrication on its hull, an advanced heat recovery system, and fuel cells.

In 2025, a second cruise ship of the Icon class will be delivered, and in 2026, a third ship of the same type is expected to be delivered.

Icon of the Seas, has over 40 restaurants and bars and can accommodate 7,600 individuals, offering the ideal family holiday.
