Suez Canal Recorded Its Highest-Ever Monthly Revenue In March 2023

Al Mal reported on April 5th that the Suez Canal saw its highest-ever monthly revenues of $832.2 million in March, a 38.5% increase from $601.7 million in the same month of 2022.

Moreover, 2,191 ships with a net tonnage of 129 million tons went through the canal in both directions in March, compared to 1,816 vessels carrying 107 million tons the previous year.

The canal’s revenues jumped 40.6% to $2.382 billion in Q1 2023 compared to Q1 2022’s $1.694 billion figure. Osama Rabie, Chairman of SCA, had earlier declared they target an income goal of $9 billion this year.
