COSCO Shipping Tanker Successfully Receives Delivery Of Mt Cosnew Lake

The Christening and Delivery Ceremony of Mt Cosnew Lake, a VLCC of 319,000 dwt, of COSCO SHIPPING Tanker (Dalian) was held in Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Port. Present at the ceremony were Mr Yang Shicheng, Managing Director of COSCO SHIPPING Tanker (Dalian), Mr Luo Yuming and Mr Zhao Jinwen, Vice Managing Directors of COSCO SHIPPING Energy, Mr Zhang Qinghai, the Secretary of Committee of Disciplinary & Inspection and Party committee member of COSCO SHIPPING Tanker (Dalian), Mr Bu Fanyi, Vice Managing Director of COSCO SHIPPING Tanker (Dalian), Mr Dong Hexuan, President of Trade Union of COSCO SHIPPING Tanker (Dalian), as well as executives and guests from China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, China Shipbuilding Trading, Hong Kong Marine Department, Rongsheng Petrochemical Co., Ltd. ,ZhenHua Oil Co., Ltd., China National Petroleum Corporation , China Classification Society(Dalian), COSCO International Ship Trading Company, etc.

Ms Wu Li, the “godmother” of the vessel christened and cut the hawser of the vessel. Then, accompanied by the Captain, the Chief Engineer and the political commissar of the vessel, the executives and guests boarded Mt Cosnew Lake. The crew were greeted warmly with best wishes. Mr Yang Shicheng on behalf of ship-owner signed the delivery contract with delegates of Dalian Shipbuilding Industry and China Shipbuilding Trading.

Mr Zhang Qinghai addressed the following celebration party. He hoped that the cooperation with all parties will be enhanced.

Mt Cosnew Lake is one of the new generations of energy-saving, environment-friendly, anti-sand series carriers tailored by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry for COSCO SHIPPING Tanker (Dalian). With an LOA of 332.5 metres, a moulded breadth of 60 metres, a dwt of 319,000, and a draught of 20.5 meters, the vessel could carry 2,500 barrels of crude oil to pass the Straits of Malacca. It’s adopted excellent hull line and anti-sand patent design is a high-quality super-large crude oil carrier with the features underlying safety, environmental protection and economy.
