What is Omnichannel Distribution in Logistics?
Omnichannel distribution in shipping is where a customer can place a purchase order for a product and receive it from any source that he or she chooses from.
In logistics, the main aim of omnichannel distribution is customer satisfaction through a single point of contact and a smooth flow of processes.
Omnichannel logistics is quite flexible and allows customers the following options:
- To place an order online and pick up the product from a store at a given location.
- To place an order online and have it delivered to the customer’s preferred address.
- Purchase a product from the store and have it delivered to the customer’s preferred address.
In omnichannel logistics, the customer does his purchase from a single point. It can be in-store, online, or both.
