Watch: Ukraine Destroys Russian Shahed Drone With A Turret-Fitted Sargan 3000 USV
Ukrainian Navy said that its Sargan-3000 Unmanned Surface Vessel shot down a Russian Shahed-type drone while operating through a mesh network.
The Shahed was struck by fire from the turret onboard the Sargan USV, the navy added, saying that it utilised a 12.7 mm RWS Protector Remote Weapon Station to shoot the target.
Sargan-3000, designed for anti-air and anti-surface roles, entered service with the Ukrainian forces in April this year.
It is built for combat over large distances across the Ukrainian shores, with an operating radius of around 1600 km and speeds of up to 40-55 knots, while carrying payloads of up to 450 kilograms.
During the last month, the Sargan-3000 drone shot down a Russian USV in the Black Sea using its machine gun. The Ukrainian Navy said that it was the first engagement in naval history involving two uncrewed surface vessels.
