Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering launched the world’s largest 15,000 cbm refrigerated vessel on February 20, 2026.

Owned by Shanghai Changzheng Shipping Co., Ltd, the vessel was designed for deep-sea fishing and features an advanced temperature-control system.

Its launch is a major milestone for the fishery industry chains and cold-chain logistics.

The ship will provide supplies to deep-sea fishing fleets and undertake the transhipment of marine products with full temperature control and refrigeration.

The vessel highlights its owner’s standards for high-end vessels and solidifies the company’s expertise in shipping perishable cargo.

It also shows its expertise in cold-chain logistics and the contribution it made to China’s maritime industry, especially fisheries.

Shanghai Changzheng Shipping had signed a deal with CIMC SOE for building 8 refrigerated transport ships.

As of January 2026, four vessels of this series have entered the construction stage.

The second vessel, a 15,000 cbm refrigerated ship, was launched on January 26, 2026.

The vessel measures 146 m lengthwise, 22 m breadthwise, has a cargo volume of 15,130 m3 and is primarily used to transport fresh catch between different ports.

The ship has 6 refrigerated compartments with zoned refrigeration, which support
cryogenic transport down to -35°C.

It has been classified by the China Classification Society (CCS) and has Ice Zone Class B navigation capability.
