Powerful Waves & Storms Ravage Grounded Container Ship MSC Baltic III
Damage can be seen on the MSC Baltic III container ship, which grounded on the West Coast of Newfoundland.
Powerful storms and strong winds have engulfed the region for the past few days.
The vessel ran aground on February 15, 2025, in Canada with 20 crew after it lost power in bad weather.
In August and September, the Coast Guard removed remaining fuel and containers; however, since then, unfavourable weather has affected the operations, affecting the process.
On November 7, 2025, the Canadian Coast Guard reported that extreme wind and sea conditions prevented the operations on the ship, though personnel are monitoring its condition from the shore.
They are also working with the response agency to continue the remaining work once the weather conditions improve.
Per the latest reports, the ship experienced significant movement at the bow and stern, and changes can be seen on the port side, although a detailed assessment has not been done due to the weather.
The salvage crew said that equipment on the ship also suffered some damage.
