MSC Competes with Maersk For Denmark’s Largest Container Port of Aarhus
Per media reports, Maersk-owned APM Terminals is on its way to exit Denmark’s biggest container port of Aarhus.
MSC is negotiating with the Danish Port to develop a new container terminal in Aarhus and the port is concerned about the current Monopolio that APM Terminals enjoy, per DynaLiners.
Maersk has offered a different way of relationship with Aarhus Port. Additionally, APM Terminals is extending its opening time from Monday to Thursday at Aarhus Port, not allowing access between 18.00-20.00 in addition to existing hours.
Maersk mentioned in a customer advisory that they are expanding opening hours to increase flexibility for customers, decrease the operational pressure at the terminal and avoid waiting times.
The additional surcharges of 100DKK which is about 15 US Dollars, apply for pickups in extended opening hours.
