Fincantieri Delivers World’s First Intelligent Ultra-Luxury Vessel “Four Seasons I” At Ancona Shipyard

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has delivered “Four Seasons I,” the first ultra-luxury hospitality vessel for Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings LTD, Joint Owner/Operator of Four Seasons Yachts.

The handover took place at the company’s Ancona shipyard, marking the debut of the Group’s first Navis Sapiens vessel.

The 34,000 gross ton vessel is positioned as the world’s first intelligent ultra-luxury ship, integrating artificial intelligence and real-time data systems into its operational core.

“Four Seasons I” is the first ship built under Fincantieri’s Navis Sapiens program, announced at Seatrade 2025. The platform was developed by Fincantieri Ingenium, a joint venture between Fincantieri NexTech and Accenture.

The Navis Sapiens architecture uses integrated digital systems powered by artificial intelligence.

The platform processes real-time operational data to support safety, efficiency, and predictive maintenance. Its open and scalable structure allows future technology upgrades without affecting the onboard guest experience.

“Four Seasons I” measures 207 meters in length and has a gross tonnage of 34,000 GT. Unlike traditional cruise ships, it features only 95 suites, designed in a residential style layout.

Each suite includes expansive terraces and open-air living spaces to enhance the connection between guests and the sea.

The Funnel Suite offers 457 square meters of indoor-outdoor space, placing it among the largest accommodations ever created on a hospitality vessel.

The all-suite concept reduces passenger density compared to mainstream cruise ships, positioning the vessel firmly in the ultra-luxury segment. This approach aligns with high-end hospitality standards rather than conventional cruise design.

More than 2,000 workers, including Fincantieri employees and partner companies, contributed to the project at the Ancona shipyard over recent months.

The Ancona facility spans 360,000 square meters and has a production capacity of 60,000 gross tons. It features lifting systems capable of handling up to 500 tons and hull construction capacity of 1,200 tons per month.

The yard is part of Fincantieri’s Operations Excellence program, which integrates automation, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and collaborative robotics into production processes.

The delivery ceremony in Ancona was attended by local authorities, including the Mayor of Ancona, the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Ancona, and the Deputy Prefect representing the Prefect of Ancona.

Senior executives from Fincantieri and Four Seasons Yachts also attended the delivery ceremony.
