US Navy & Indian Naval Force Conduct Joint Exercise in the Indian Ocean

The Indian Navy and the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group of the US Navy undertook a joint exercise in the Indian Ocean.

Indian Navy vessels INS Aditya & INS Visakhapatnam participated in the Maritime Partnership Exercise with the US Naval Carrier Strike Group in the Arabian Sea on July 12, 2024.

The Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, Arleigh Burke-Class Guided Missile Destroyer USS Daniel Inouye and Carrier Air Wing 11 participated from the U.S side.

The exercise showed the two nations’s shared commitment to uphold an open and free Indo-Pacific.

The Indian Navy is also participating in the Rim of Pacific 2024 exercise, the largest naval exercise in the world, ongoing in Hawaii.

The Indian Navy has conducted many naval exercises with the US Navy across different regions, including the Pacific, Africa and Southwest Asia.
