US Navy Identifies Sailor Lost Overboard From USS Mason

On March 23, 2024, the US Navy identified a sailor, who had gone overboard while being deployed in the Red Sea.

Oriola Michael Aregbesola, 34, from Florida, was an Aviation Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class who joined the Navy in July 2020.

On Wednesday, he went overboard from the USS Mason, military officials informed.

He had been assigned to the Swamp Foxes associated with Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 74.

He was selfless and embodied the spirit of a thoughtful warrior, according to the US Navy Sailor Cmdi. Eric Kohut, the commanding officer of HSM-74.
