Titanic II To Make A Comeback, Australian Billionaire Makes New Plans

Australian billionaire Clive Palmer has re-unveiled his ambitious plans for the significant Titanic II project.

The project aims to build an exact duplicate of the iconic RMS Titanic, but a “far, far superior” to the original one.

Previous attempts to build the ship were put on hold by the COVID-19 pandemic, among other issues, and the current project has been underway for more than ten years.

The proposed ship will closely resemble its predecessor, with meticulous recreations of the original Titanic’s interiors and cabin layout.

The vessel will also use contemporary safety protocols, navigation techniques, and technology to guarantee the security and comfort of the passengers.

Titanic II’s significant partners are Finnish ship design firm Deltamarin, ship management services provider V. Ships, and Swiss interior design firm Tillberg Design.

The construction is expected to start in the first quarter of 2025, although the shipyard which will be used to complete the project hasn’t been disclosed.

The Titanic II is projected to be 882 feet long and weigh about 56,000 gross tons— slightly more than the original Titanic.
