Hornsea 3, with a colossal capacity of 2.9 GW is set to become the world’s largest offshore wind farm.

Ørsted, the global leader in offshore wind power, has officially approved the building of Hornsea 3

The project, expected to be finished by the end of 2027, comes after Ørsted’s successful Hornsea 1 (1.2 GW) and Hornsea 2 (1.3 GW) projects in the same zone.

Hornsea 3 is being developed for the UK, which is acknowledged as one of the world’s largest offshore wind markets.

With thousands employed in developing low-cost green energy for over 3.3 million homes, Hornsea 3 will provide major advantages to the UK.

With twelve offshore wind farms already operating in the UK,  Hornsea 3 will further help the UK in meeting government climate and renewable energy targets.
