World’s Largest Offshore Wind Turbines Enter Testing Phase In China
Envision Energy, based in Shanghai, installed the world's largest offshore wind turbine, the EN-256/16.7, in Shenyang, China. This milestone propels China's offshore wind power industry to global prominence.
The EN-256/16.7 is not only the largest wind turbine but also the first "carbon neutral" offshore megawatt turbine in China.
Building on the EN-252/14 model, the EN-256/16.7 enhances innovations in delivery, manufacturing, hoisting, and maintenance.
Envision's supply network spans Chinese coastal waters, producing nearly 10GW. Successful projects like the CGN Huizhou assignment showcase the performance and reliability of Envision’s turbines.
Envision’s turbines feature a modular design for easy component replacement, reducing offshore operation time. Their innovative hoisting solutions enable maintenance under harsh conditions, such as typhoons.
Envision’s dedication to low-carbon materials, intelligent designs, and zero-carbon manufacturing is highlighted by the EN-256/16.7 unit, which rolled off the production line at Sheyang Zero Carbon Industrial Park.
The advancements by Envision Energy and Dongfang Electric mark a new era in offshore wind energy.
