USS Santa Barbara (LCS-32) is an Independence-class littoral combat ship of the United States Navy.

She is the 32nd ship of the type, which is inter-numbered with the Freedom-class littoral combat ships.

Santa Barbara (LCS 32) arrived at its new homeport in San Diego for the first time, Jan. 18.

The newest LCS in the Navy’s inventory, Santa Barbara traveled through the Panama Canal just after New Year’s Day.

This is the 16th LCS homeported in San Diego under the leadership of Littoral Combat Ship Squadron (LCSRON) One.

Santa Barbara, like its sister ships, benefits from both innovative technology and highly-trained Sailors.

Littoral Combat Ships are fast, optimally-manned, that operate in near-shore and open-ocean environments

Sailors participated in community relations events which included volunteering at a school, during their visits.
