USS Forrest Sherman (DDG-98) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer in the United States Navy.
She is named for Admiral Forrest Percival Sherman, and was commissioned on 28 January 2006.
The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer returned to Naval Station Norfolk on Dec. 22.
Her return to homeport marks the completion of a 6-month deployment as the flagship for Standing NATO Maritime Group 2.
Forrest Sherman led a multinational maritime group in operations throughout the Mediterranean Sea.
The crew traveled more than 37,000 nautical miles, and conducted 36 sea and anchor evolutions.
Forrest Sherman also completed 17 port visits to Croatia, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Italy, Spain and Turkey.
Forrest Sherman Sailors attended planning meetings, participated in sporting events with Sailors from other navies.
