The USS Delbert D. Black arrived in Civitavecchia, Italy, on March 11, 2023, for a scheduled port visit.

This is the ship’s first port visit in the U.S. Sixth Fleet area of operations since entering the Mediterranean Sea.

The visit aims to strengthen the partnership between the U.S. and Italy.

The crew will have opportunities to explore the local area, make trips to Rome and Vatican City.

The ship arrived in Civitavecchia following the successful completion of the NATO antisubmarine warfare exercise Dynamic Manta.

The commanding officer expressed gratitude for the visit and recognized the crew's performance during the past seven months.

Delbert D. Black is homeported in Mayport, Florida, and is part of the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group (CSG).

The George H.W. Bush is the flagship of CSG-10, which includes Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 7.
