USS Bataan (LHD 5) hosted 32 flag officers, a dozen captains and colonels, foreign ministers, members of parliament, and others.
The first visit was from a senior German Navy submarine delegation headed by Rear Adm. Sascha Rackwitz.
The second visit was from a NATO Military Committee delegation led by Adm. Rob Bauer, Chair of NATO MC, with 35 high-ranking leaders.
The third visit was from eight members of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence from Norway.
The guests were given tours of the ship and briefs about its capabilities and medical abilities.
The US relationship with Norway is expressed through bilateral partnership and regional alliances.
Norway is NATO’s ‘eyes and ears’ in the Arctic and is a vital partner in addressing maritime aggression.
