USS Arleigh Burke, is the lead ship of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers.

She was laid down by the Bath Iron Works company at Bath, Maine, on 6 December 1988.

She is named after Admiral Arleigh A. Burke (1901-1996), who distinguished himself during World War II and the Korean War.

USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) arrived in Stockholm, Sweden for a scheduled port visit, Feb. 16, 2023.

The crew of the Arleigh Burke has been completing rigorous training and ship repairs for the upcoming patrol.

Stockholm, Sweden will be hosting the Arleigh Burke destroyer and its crew, demonstrating the close bond between the United States and Sweden.

The ship will be participating in integration with NATO allies and European partners in the Baltic Sea. 

U.S. Sixth Fleet is permanently assigned to NAVEUR-NAVAF and employs maritime forces.
