US Navy Awards $243.8M Contract To Deliver Electronic Warfare Combat Training Subsystems
Mercury System has been chosen to offer the US Navy its rapidly reprogrammable and advanced electronic attack training subsystems.
The company has received a five-year $243.8 million contract to deliver such subsystems for the US Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division.
The subsystems have been developed over 25 years of testing & training tech from the Mercury processing platform to offer near-peer jamming & EW capabilities to US pilot training organizations.
Mercury’s digital RF memory based reactive jamming subsystems would permit training planners to reprogram missions for various aircraft via a software interface and emulate several National Air and Space Intelligence Center validated risks.
Mercury has offered radar jamming abilities to the US Navy’s Airborne Threat Simulation Organization (abbreviated ATSO) since 1987 and has delivered over 600 systems in the last decade.
Mercury also received its initial $20.3 million DRFM production order, which includes engineering services to continually update the system’s threat library.
