US Issues Over 300 New Sanctions Targeting Russia’s Shipping To Cripple China’s Support

The US issued hundreds of new sanctions against Russia over the war in Ukraine, aiming to cripple Moscow’s support from China.

The US imposed sanctions on 20 companies based in China and Hong Kong after repeated warnings about China’s support for Russia’s military.

A Chinese Company exported items used to produce drones, propellers, engines and sensors for a company in Russia.

Four other Chinese companies were targeted for shipping critical items for Russia’s defence industrial base.

Companies in Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and Malaysia were also accused of shipping high-priority items to Russia.

The U.S. also accused Russia of violating a global ban on chemical weapons.

The U.S. is cracking down on vessel operators to target Russia’s ability to ship LNG, one of the country’s top exports.

Subsidiaries of Russia’s state nuclear power company Rosatom were also targeted.

The U.S. wants to cripple Chinese support, without which Russia cannot continue its war in Ukraine on a massive scale.
