The U.S. and UK carried out strikes at 8 different locations in Yemen, with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada and the Netherlands, per a joint statement signed by the 6 nations.
Around 25-30 munitions were fired, some from warplanes launched from a U.S aircraft carrier.
The target of attacks were installations connected to Houthi missile and air surveillance capabilities and an underground storage facility.
U.S. officials say the strikes have weakened Houthi abilities to carry out complex attacks in the Red Sea.
Over 14 shipping companies have ceased operations in the Red Sea due to Houthi attacks, impacting regional and global economies.
The U.S and U.K. have also evaluated Iran’s extensive engagement in Houthi operations.
Reports suggest the presence of Iranian advisors in Yemen, helping to identify targets and coordinating attacks in the Red Sea.
