WHAT IS A
DRY DOCK?

A structured area wherein construction, repairs and maintenance of merchant vessels and boats are carried out.

Normally constructed on land near the coastal waters with a rectangular solid concrete construction with blocks, walls, and gates.

Graving Dock

A ā€œUā€ structure which is mainly used in salvage, to carry ships that have met with an accident.

Floating Dock

Hoists a vessel out of the water to a height above the highest tides, where it rests on a structure fixed to the ground.

Marine Rail Dock

A structural platform that is lifted and lowered exactly vertically, synchronously by a number of hoists.

Shiplift

These offer a safe and efficient way to launch and retrieve vessels for maintenance or storage.
