TUI Cruises Unveils Its Largest LNG-Powered Ship
TUI Cruises has taken delivery of its first LNG-powered cruise ship, Mein Schiff Relax. Built by Fincantieri, it marks a new era of eco-friendly cruising for the German brand.
With a gross tonnage of 161,000, it’s the largest ship in TUI’s fleet and the first capable of running on LNG, Marine Gas Oil, and future bio/e-LNG fuels.
Construction began in 2022, and after successful sea trials, the ship is now ready for service. It follows TUI’s move toward greener cruising, alongside their first methanol-ready ship, Mein Schiff 7.

Beyond LNG, the ship boasts Euro 6-compliant catalytic converters, waste treatment systems, and shore power connectivity—setting new standards for sustainable cruising.
Mein Schiff Relax will enter service in March, sailing the Canary Islands, before heading to Germany in 2026. A grand christening ceremony in Malaga on April 9 will mark its debut.
With its innovative design, luxury amenities, and sustainability focus, Mein Schiff Relax is a glimpse into the future of cruising—where comfort meets responsibility.
