The fourth ship of the Survey Vessels Project, 'Sanshodhak', was launched on June 13, at Chennai.
Chief Hydrographer to Government of India, VAdm Adhir Arora, attended the launch ceremony.
Smt Tanvi Arora, following naval tradition, launched the ship named 'Sanshodhak'.
The SVL ships will replace the existing Sandhayak Class survey ships and feature new-generation hydrographic equipment.
With a length of 110 m, width of 16 m, and a displacement of 3,400 tons, the SVL ships are equipped to undertake surveys.
The ships can carry four Survey Motor Boats and an integral helicopter.
This has been constructed with steel manufactured by Steel Authority of India Limited.
The vessel showcases the government's commitment to 'Make in India' and 'Aatma Nirbhar Bharat' movement.
