Russian Cargo Ship Transporting Iranian Ballistic Missiles Spotted At Caspian Sea Port

A Russian-flagged cargo ship, Port Olya 3, was spotted at Port Olya in Astrakhan, believed to be transporting Iranian missiles

Satellite images traced the ship’s journey from Iran’s port of Amirabad, with its transponder shut off to avoid detection.

The U.S. Treasury confirmed that Russian Defense used the vessel to transport short-range ballistic missiles from Iran.

Approximately 220 Fateh-360 missiles were shipped, designed to strike Ukrainian military sites from a range of up to 75 miles.

U.S. officials revealed that Russian personnel were trained in Iran to operate these missiles, escalating tensions in the region.

Iran’s foreign minister denied the missile deliveries, accusing the U.S. of relying on poor intelligence and imposing ineffective sanctions.

The UK, France, and Germany criticized the missile shipments as a threat to European security and a dangerous escalation.

The U.S. fears Russia will use these missiles against Ukraine while conserving its own longer-range missile arsenal.
