World’s first ship tunnel is to be constructed in Norway.

Norway’s Transport and Communications Ministry has given a go ahead signal for the stad ship tunnel.

81% of today's ship traffic can use the tunnel that will reduce their fuel consumption by 30%-60%.

It's being made in the Norwegian mountains and will make the shortest route through the Stadhavet.

The tunnel will be 1.7 km in length and will facilitate the transport of cargo ships and coastal voyage fleets.

It is an engineering marvel that will exploit the narrowest point of the Stadhavet peninsula.

The government expects an estimated cost of $330 million to build this ship tunnel in 4 years.
