China is set to launch the world's first zero-emission battery-powered cruise ship.

The ship, known as the "Ecoship 1," is being developed by China Merchants Group (CMG).

It will have a capacity for 2,000 passengers and is designed for coastal and river cruises.

Ecoship 1 aims to reduce its carbon footprint by using advanced battery technology.

The ship's batteries will have a capacity of 7,500 kWh, providing enough power for a full day of sailing.

It will be equipped with energy-efficient technologies and sustainable materials.

The ship's design includes a retractable sail system to harness wind energy.

Launching this innovative cruise ship is a significant step towards sustainable, eco-friendly maritime transportation.
