A Chinese spy ship named Yuan Wang VI has entered the Indian Ocean.

The ship entered the Indian Ocean on November 4 via Lombok Straits, 3500 kms away from Port Blair.

The ship is monitoring a scheduled ballistic missile launch off the coast of APJ Kalam Island this month.

The test will likely occur sometime between 10 and 11 November, as a Notice to Airmen issued.

Chinese strategic vessels are surveying the Indian Ocean, exploring other routes to Malacca Straits.

The missile India is likely to test during this period is from the Agni series of ballistic missiles.

The missile test could be deferred due to the presence of the Chinese intelligence vessel.

The ship will likely go towards the no-fly zone for the Chinese aerospace mission in the Ocean.
