China Unveils Most Advanced Offshore Wind Turbine Installation Vessel

China has unveiled the Tiejian Wind Power 2000, a state-of-the-art vessel designed to install the world’s largest offshore wind turbines.

Delivered on December 28, this fourth-generation self-elevating installation vessel is the most advanced of its kind in China.

Built by CIMC Raffles, the vessel is specifically designed to install massive turbines, including those with over 20 MW capacity.

With a length of 445 feet and a width of 174 feet, the Tiejian Wind Power 2000 features a vast deck area of more than 5,000 square feet for turbine assembly.

Its standout feature is the 2,000-ton pile-circling full-slewing crane, capable of reaching over 540 feet to lift some of the world’s largest turbines.

Built for challenging offshore conditions, it can operate in ocean depths of up to 260 feet, allowing it to work in deeper waters where new turbines are being placed.

The Tiejian Wind Power 2000 marks a milestone for China’s offshore wind industry, offering unprecedented flexibility and efficiency for turbine installations worldwide.
