The Indian Navy successfully managed to test Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) on Tuesday from the destroyer dubbed INS Visakhapatnam, reportedly validating the ability to engage anti-ship missiles.

The MRSAM is specifically designed to impair helicopters cruise missiles as well as drones and hostile aircraft at about a 70km range.

The missile is produced by Bharat Dynamics Ltd and developed jointly by Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).
