Video: Israeli Navy Fires Machine Gun At Hamas Boat in Raw Video

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a public video footage on Saturday that featured soldiers from the navy’s “Snapir” unit repelling attempts by Hamas militants to assault Israel from the water.

The naval strike by the terrorist Palestinian group Hamas was part of a larger series of unexpected air, sea, and land attacks on 7 October. At least 1,300 Israelis were killed, and up to 150 were captured due to the group’s missile attack on Israel, which also saw armed paragliders and gunmen.

The Hamas speedboat was fully destroyed by the forces from the 916th Patrol Squadron of Israel with patrol boats of the Dvora class, per The Times of Israel report. The IDF mentioned that the on-board insurgents were thrown straight into the Mediterranean Sea first and then tried swimming toward the coast.

The “Snapir” Unit of the Israeli Navy opened up fire on terrorists that were swimming to the shoreline to infiltrate Israel by sea, the IDF mentioned in an X post regarding the incident.

Israel boasts three Snapir units with their bases in the major Mediterranean ports of Ashdod and Haifa and yet another at Eilat, one busy port on the Red Sea, the Defense News reported.

It serves as a security force for the ports while conducting border patrols and underwater operations, per the website.

Israel’s navy will be boosted by British war vessels, surveillance aircraft, and Royal Marines reaching the eastern Mediterranean.

The US sent the Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier to the region on its first full deployment to show support for Israel, per Insider.

It has also been deploying several next-gen F-35 fighter jets to the area to deter Iran that has backed the Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah and Hamas — and prevent the war from strengthening and spilling into a broader conflict.

The Israeli retaliation for the 7 October Hamas offensive has reportedly targeted Gaza with a significant bombardment that has taken the lives of nearly 2,383 Palestinians and left 10,814 injured on Sunday morning, per Palestine’s health ministry sources, per the Reuters.
