BigRoll Shipping is building four state-of-the-art MC-Class Module Carriers: BigRoll Barentsz, BigRoll Bering, BigRoll Baffin and BigRoll Beaufort. The Finnish Swedish 1A Ice Class MC Class is specifically designed for the marine transportation of major modules and equipment for large energy projects both onshore and offshore to remote areas.
The PSMR Class notation (Propulsion and Steering Machinery Redundancy) in combination with the slender hull ensures; reliability, sustainable speeds, short transit times and sound seakeeping behaviour. The increased heading control results in lower acceleration forces on the cargo, while the combination of the hull design and propulsion system leads to competitive fuel consumption.
The deck of the MC-Class is completely flush and can be used over the full length and width of the vessel. In combination with the large ballast capacity and the deck strength, which is built up on a uniform grid of bulkheads and web frames, these ships are the solution of choice for both onshore and offshore heavy transport projects.
The dynamic positioning of the MC-Class provides unique capabilities for offshore transportation and installation services.
