The Ministry reported that at 0530 hours, the armed forces of Ukraine tried to attack Ivan Khurs, a Russian surveillance ship, using three unmanned speedboats. However, they did not succeed, and all three boats were destroyed by the Russian Khurs’ weaponry.
The Russian Ministry released a video which shows a black drone boat coming near the camera at high speed and trying to dodge machine gun fire; however, it explodes before reaching its target.
When the incident occurred, the Khurs was patrolling the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines under the Black Sea, about 75 nautical miles to the northeast of the Bosphorus entrance. This region is within the Turkish EEZ but outside the Turkish territorial seas.
The Ukrainian Government has not responded to the allegations yet.
Additionally, Russia has also utilised drone-boat technology to aid its invasion of Ukraine.
