DFDS Expands Cooperation With Turkish Ekol Logistics

DFDS will in 2019 invest DKK 300m to install scrubbers on 12 freight ferries deployed on freight routes in the Mediterranean between Turkey, Italy, Greece and France.
U.N. Ro-Ro operates five freight ferry routes connecting Turkey with Trieste in Italy and Toulon in France with 12 freight ferries and its own port terminals in Istanbul and Trieste. The company has an annual revenue of EUR 240 million and 500 employees.
Every year, five million passengers, one million cars and 1.2 million trucks travel between Dover – Calais and Dover – Dunkerque on DFDS’ ferries.
KNUD E. HANSEN has worked closely with DFDS and CSC Jinling Shipyard over the past 4 months in order to refine and optimise the concept. The result of these efforts is a new generation of RoRo vessels that will be among the largest in the world and will raise the bar for what is considered environmental friendly.
