For the second year in a row, the industry in the port of Rotterdam has released less CO2 into the atmosphere. This becomes clear from new figures published by the Dutch Emissions Authority (NEA).
In response to rapidly growing customer demand, APM Terminals Barcelona, Spain has increased reefer capacity by 31%. The electrical capacity of the terminal has also been improved, leading to a reduction in CO2 emissions of 600 tonnes per annum.
FUELSAVE, has applied to become a partner of the CO2 Challenge, the initiative set up by US conglomerate Cargill, entrepreneurial cooperative group Rainmaking and DNV GL.
Since the project was announced in June 2018, the CO2 Challenge has received some 70 applicants from 20 different countries; the scouting process uncovered a further 68 start-ups.
