The world’s greatest warship has reached the Gulf of Trieste and will likely anchor for five days. The aircraft carrier, which can carry nearly 75 warplanes, participated in NATO exercises recently in Greece, Norway, and Turkey.
USS Ford visits Trieste
A sign of the relationship between Italy and the US, states US Ambassador to Italy John Phillips. Further, Mayor Roberto Dipiazza added that it is a wonderful chance for Trieste to highlight its hospitality and culture. In Italy, the giant vessel is also perceived as a tourist hub.
The visit must economically contribute to the city. The crew members of the USS Gerald R. Ford include over 4,500 sailors who will be ashore. The world’s greatest warship will emerge as a tourist magnet in the next few days. However, not all are excited about this giant’s existence.
The incident occurred on Sunday in Trieste; nearly 100 individuals participated in the protest march. Calling on the crew members to anchor and leave Italy, the demonstrators said, on the occasion of the Ford aircraft carrier reaching, they were demonstrating against the war that NATO, the USA, and Ukraine provoked.
