A fire broke out on the aged RoRo vessel ‘Ariburnu’ while en route from Kumkapı to Zonguldak off Turkey’s Black Sea coast near Sile. The General Directorate of Coastal Safety responded immediately after being informed of the incident.

No injuries or casualties have been reported, but the crew is still working to cool the vessel drifting in the area.

The Ariburnu, built in 1944, was used to transport vehicles, equipment and passengers between Istanbul and Zonguldak.
