Video: Ship Bound For Libya Gets Intercepted And Raided By German Forces

A video published on Tuesday by the Turkish Media shows a Turkish merchant cargo ship that was bound for the Libyan coast, getting intercepted and raided by the German naval forces as a part of an operation named “Irini” in the eastern Mediterranean on Sunday.

In the video, the German forces along with their helicopters and warship are seen proceeding towards the Turkish Vessel, where they entered and searched the ship for its content. The Turkish Foreign Ministry, on Monday, called this a violation of international law and condemned their impromptu inspection.

The German army affirmed that Turkey halted German forces working within a military mission of the European Union from investigating a Turkish cargo ship “believed to be transporting weapons to Libya.”
