Video: Bulk Carrier Collision Leads To Oil Spill

A 55600 dwt supramax bulk carrier caused an oil spill into the sea after it had its hull breached while entering Boshnyakovo Anchorage, western Sakhalin Island coast.

According to reports from local media, the bulk carrier, Kang Shun, collided with a bunker barge which lead to a breach in one of the ship’s fuel tanks.

A response team was deployed to clean the oil spill.

No injuries have been reported.

The incident took place on May 21 and the the ship has yet to depart.
